On September 18, Sergey Levin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia, met with Julien Denormandie, Minister of Agriculture and Food of France. The sides discussed prospects for cooperation in the agricultural sector.

Agricultural trade between Russia and France has grown by almost 30% to 708 million dollars over the eight months of the current year. Meanwhile, cooperation in the investment sphere is actively developing. Large projects of French companies in the food industry are being successfully implemented in our country.
Russia is interested in boosting food supplies to the French market. Taking into account the French presidency in the European Union in the first half of the next year, Sergey Levin expressed hope for the support of the French side to recognize the regionalization principle when exporting Russian poultry products to the EU market.
In addition, cooperation in viticulture and winemaking became a topic of discussion at the meeting. Sergey Levin expressed his gratitude to the French colleagues for the constructive decision to support the inclusion of the Russian language in the list of official languages of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) this year. According to the Deputy Minister, our country is open for further dialogue and is ready to hold expert consultations at the request of the French side to consider cooperation in this field.
