Flour confectionery products exports increased by 5.9% in the first half of the year

Flour confectionery products exports in the first half of 2020 compared to the same period last year increased by 5.9% to 203 million dollars.According to the Federal center for development of export of agricultural products of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the categories’ structure showed a positive trend for the sweet biscuits shipment – up to 53 million dollars (+ 3.2%), waffles – up to 50 million dollars (+9,9%), crispbread – up to 3.2 million dollars (+6,6%) and other bakery and confectionery products – up to 83 million dollars (+6,8%).
The list of countries that consume Russian flour confectionery products has expanded to 62. In the first half of last year, shipments were made to 59 countries. For the first time in the recent years, Russia exported these products to Sweden, Slovakia and Bahrain. The first deliveries were made to Senegal, Burundi and Uruguay.
The largest buyers of Russian flour confectionery products are Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and China.
