The Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Sergey Levin and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Hungary Sandor Farkaš held a meeting in Budapest of the Working Group on Agriculture of the Russian-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.

The congregation discussed the matters of current agritrade and food turnover, joint agricultural startups, veterinary and phytosanitary collaboration, expanding science and business relations.
Sergei Levin believes that despite apparent growth in Russian agricultural exports to Hungary last year, the disparity in mutual trade is still tangible. The agreement aimed at expanding mutual trade, primarily by increasing Russian supplies to the Hungarian market, became the principal fruit of the event.
The importance of developing Russian-Hungarian investment cooperation and implementation of new projects involving Hungarian investments in the Leningrad and Moscow regions, the republics of Mordovia and Tatarstan was also recognized. The parties specially considered the advisability of implementing some best Hungarian agripractices by Russian farmers.
Summarizing the meeting, the parties agreed to keep on strengthening bilateral cooperation in agriculture.
