Sergey Levin Has Discussed the Development Of Cooperation In the Agricultural Sector With the Head Of the Agrarian Department of Mongolia
On December 2, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Sergey Levin discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the agro-industrial complex with the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia Chultemin Ulaan.
Sergey Levin praised the development of trade relations in agriculture. “The turnover of agricultural products between Russia and Mongolia over the past few years has shown positive dynamics. We see that domestic products are in demand on the Mongolian market and, with appropriate demand, are ready to increase supplies, ”said the Deputy Minister.
The main commodity items in the structure of Russian exports to Mongolia include cereals, confectionery, food products and sunflower oil. The Russian side noted the interest of domestic producers in increasing the supply of grain, dairy products, confectionery, sugar and other products.
The meeting participants noted that the coordinated work between the supervisory agencies of the two countries contributes to the effective development of bilateral cooperation in the field of agricultural trade. Currently, there are 201 Mongolian enterprises in the Register of Enterprises Open for Export of Agricultural Products to the Territory of Russia, of which 151 are entitled to supply their livestock products.
Sergey Levin and Chultemiin Ulaan also discussed the possibility of supplying grain seeds to Mongolia in 2020 and the implementation of the third stage of the program to improve Mongolian cattle. The first and second stages of the program were carried out in the framework of humanitarian assistance to Mongolia and provided for the supply of Russian FMD vaccines, as well as monitoring vaccination in Mongolia.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for further cooperation on the entire spectrum of issues in the field of agriculture.
